Abstract

The following research has the objective of pondering and understanding the ressonances about the acquired disability within the conjugal bond from the disabled person's partner's standpoint. This work justifies itself because disabled people constitute a growing segment of the world population. Considering that, acquired disability brings a turning point in the relationship between the disabled people and their closest people. Therefore, it is important to comprehend the ressonances of acquired disability around the life of the couple and how the couple organize themselves due to these factors. This is a qualitative research, which focuses on the apprehension and reflection about acquired disability and conjugality. To perform this research will be applied a semi-guided interview as an instrument to collect data. Five interviews will be conducted with the partner of the disabled person which has a conjugal bond since before the disabling episode. The data analysis will be performed comparing the obtained data with the available scientifical data. Thus, it is intended to develop an interlocution of psychoanalytical studies, in specific within the field of psychoanalysis in the conjugal bond configuration and the regarding researches about acquired disability and the subjacent processes of this experience. Finally, it is expected this research to contribute to the studies of disabled people, conjugality and family in the present.
