Abstract

In this project, in progress, stages for the development of Scientific Initiation research, linked to the Research Group "History of Language and Literature Teaching in Brazil" and to the projects "Memory of Portuguese Language teaching in the state of São Paulo: 1976-1991", and "History of Language and Literature Teaching in Brazil - VIII ", coordinated by M. R. L. Mortatti are presented. Aiming to contribute to the production of the history of Portuguese Language teaching in the State of São Paulo, the official documents produced by the Education Secretary of this State, through the Coordination of Pedagogical Studies and Norms, in the 1980s, are focused. Through historical approach, centered on documental and bibliographic research, developed with the use of localization, retrieval, meeting, selection, ordering procedures and analysis of documentary sources and specialized bibliography, it has been elaborating the research instrument Official documents for the Portuguese language teaching in the State of São Paulo - 1980s: a research instrument, which has so far 81 references of official documents related to this teaching and it has been analyzing the main constitutive aspects of the textual configuration of this references set: purposes and needs of production and circulation of these documents, when and where they were produced, who their authors, collaborators and organizers were, and to what extent they were important so as their relation with other programs and projects in the past and present in this State and in the country. Through the preliminary analysis of the references set, it has been possible to verify that these official documents are characterized as "normalization", and "concretization" of certain conceptions of language and Portuguese language teaching directly related to the educational programs in that political and educational context.
