Abstract

his text aims at comprehending and reflecting about Jean-Paul Sartre's critique of the unconscious and of the Freudian psychoanalysis. To achieve that, the text is articulated in three moments. The presentation of Sartre's conception of Freud's oeuvre in a concise manner; for that, we start at the script The Freud Scenario written by the philosopher about the life and the work of the psychoanalyst, with the intention of comprehending conceptually the Freudian unconscious in order to comprehend the profound meaning Sartre's attributes to this subject. Then, the text aims at investigation Sartre's critical position about the unconscious, by tackling both the author's writings about Bad Faith in Being and Nothingness, which constitute an ethic-moral argument against the unconscious, and his explanation of The Imaginary, which is a psychological and phenomenological argument.
