Abstract

The relation between physical attributes and soil structure has been important to value the impact caused in environmental agronomy systems. Between the main attributes, to those dependents of the relation of mass and volume of the soil's constituent and of the hydric dynamic, have been employed with more frequency. On the other side, the quantification of the mechanical resistance that determines the aggregate or own pedon abruption, as well as, his energy, can help especially in soil's structural-physically quality studies. Hereupon, it's objective of this research project to quantify and to propose the Tensile Strength (TS) of soil's aggregates like indicator of the structural-physically quality of a Inceptisol that's under irregular use and occupation in areas of constant preservation (ACP), of the 'Ribeira de Iguape' River Basin (state of Sao Paulo), located in the biome "Atlantic Forest". Three sceneries will be valued: a) banana cultivation area; b) pasture area and c) native forest Area. The structural-physical properties will be valued through the TS of three aggregates diameters classes (0,0-1,0; 1,0-2,0 and 2,0-3,0 cm) collected from two tiers (0 to 20 cm and 20 to 40 cm) and submitted to two states of consistency (tenacious and friable), using a Digital Force Meter with Internal Cell, model IP-90DI, of Impac. The employed delineation will be Repeated Measures, in factorial scheme of the type 3*2*3, namely, three sceneries (use and management); two consistency states and three aggregates diameters classes. Admitting three repetitions and five replicates by aggregates diameter class, will be performed 540 tests of TS. As results, one hopes that the TS can be an efficient soil quality indicator, allowing to evaluate use and management impacts of each scenery on the soil's structure studied.
