Abstract

The Research Project, sponsored by FAPESP, under the Number of Process 2017/06076, is being conducted, where the candidate, jointly with Prof. Dr. Reyolando Brasil, is accomplishing an experimental and numerical study on the influence of geometric non-linearity on the vibrations of bases of vibrating machines. The core of the project is to analyze the influence of the protension force, and consequently the geometric non-linearity, on the dynamic behavior of a steel beam under an electric motor excitation. In this case, the approach is deterministic. In the proposed research project, we intend to perform an analysis of the influence of variables randomness in the structure probability of failure. The dimensions of the structure, the elasticity modulus, the protension force and the amplitude of the dynamic load will be treated as random variables. Sensitivity analyzes, to identify the random variables that most influence the solution of the problem, will be performed. An additional approach is the analysis of the dynamic interaction between the tendon and the prestressed beam. Normally the tendon is free to vibrate inside the beam, what generate additional degrees of freedom, that is not necessarily computed in a usual approach. Preliminary theoretical studies show that this interaction can be quite significant. Optimization techniques will be used to determine structural reliability. Finally, data obtained with this research project will be used to complement the current study. Articles will be written and submitted for publication in scientific journals of international prestige, while the programs and projects obtained will be put at disposal for further studies and companies of the sector.
