The urban rivers are important pieces for the cities, being used for human supply, landscaping purposes, irrigation and even leisure. However, inappropriate uses of hydric resources, land occupation, lack of control and monitoring, and more of anthropogenic actions are causing negative impacts in these surface aquatic ecosystems. Because of it, this scientific research project has as study's area an affluent of Santo Anastácio river, the Limoeiro stream, which is located in the outskirts of Presidente Prudente and Álvares Machado (SP) municipalities. This work aims to carry out an environmental diagnosis in stretches of the watercourse through the application of a Rapid Environmental Impact Assessment Protocol and the analysis of some variables related to water quality. The protocol analyzes the characteristics and conditions of water, substrate, vegetation, occupation on river's margin, erosions, silting, and the state of conservation of lotic environments. Regarding water quality parameters, will be verified electrical conductivity, dissolved oxygen, pH, salinity, temperature, turbidity, which are used for the purpose of completing and corroborating the diagnosis.
