Abstract

In studies of brain tumors, the existence of abnormal tissues can be easily detected most of the time. However, precise and reproducible identification of its limits and the characterization of magnetic resonance signal abnormalities are not easy to obtain. The study of brain tumors by magnetic resonance with quantitative techniques requires the identification of their limits. This process can be done manually or automatically. In this context, this research project will relate knowledge of neuroanatomy, medical radiology and training in computational tool to identify brain neoplastic lesions. The main purpose of this study is to compare two ways of delimiting areas of the blood-brain barrier in magnetic resonance imaging of patients with anaplastic gliomas: automatic and manual.
