Abstract

This proposal involves a research internship at Trinity College Dublin to consult sources and historiographic material related to the diplomatic and military interactions between Irish chiefs and English magnates c. 1189-1318 and seek feedback from foreign specialists in the history of the Lordship of Ireland (1171-1541), a historical period that has not been systematically studied in Brazil. To fulfill these goals, I intend to participate and assist in the activities of Trinity College Dublin's Medieval History Research Center and undertake archival research at the National Archives of Ireland, National Library of Ireland, Representative Church Body Library, the United Kingdom's National Archives and the British Library. The ultimate objective of the internship will be the production of a textual monograph to be later integrated as chapters in my final PhD thesis. (AU)
