Abstract

In this project, the research of the masters program that had FAPESP grant from 2016 to 2017. We will investigate how the relations of the place in which this music is made with the people participating in it. A significant portion of the data resulting from the vast material described and transcribed on the Folia de Reis dos Prudêncio de Cajuru will be used. Through a detailed analysis of this transcribed repertory totaling in 50 different toadas (melodies played and sung by Folia), we will try to understand its construction, meaning, transmission and the transit that establish between local, embaixadores and foliões. Much of the bibliography that will be used is linked to the thematic project "O Musicar Local - new tracks for ethnomusicology", substantially supporting this project. (AU)
