Abstract

The difficulties in managing the citrus greening require the development of alternative technologies for controlling this disease. In this project we aim to identify and characterize essential metabolic pathways in the process of host- pathogen interaction, which favor the processes of invasion, infection and multiplication of Liberibacter asiaticus in its vector Diaphorina citri. The identification of such pathways will allow the targetting of new genes using the RNA interfering technology and the enhancement of technques for dsRNA delivery.
