Abstract

This study intends to show how, in relation to the composition of The Golden Ass, by Apuleius, certain literary elements related to the theme of violence are predominant in the multifaceted message of this ancient novel. Besides a thematic approach to violence, special attention will be given to the novel's structure, in which can be divided into two components; one being the principal accounts of the narrator, Lucius, and another related to the accounts of the narrators from each intertwined story, both components of several elements related to the thematic axis of this research.
