Abstract

This project aims to study several topics related to Quantum Field Theory (QFT), beginning with the study of many-body Quantum Mechanics (QM), and its description through a field theory. Next, we will see the problems in the relativistic formulation of QM, concluding that a more suitable approach is given through a theory of quantum fields. We will study the classification of quantum fields through the Lorentz group, and how to construct them in terms of operators that create and destroy particles. Finally, the tools developed will be used in the study of Quantum Electrodynamics.
