Abstract

The combination of pesticides in the spray tank is primarily aimed at reducing costs in agricultural activity. However, they may trigger reactions that lead to a reduction in the efficiency of pesticides, as observed in the management of the Brevipalpus yothersi citrus leprosis mite when exposed to the combination of acaricide and insecticide. Therefore, the objective of the project will be to determine the enzymatic activity and the biological and behavioral changes induced by the combination of acaricide with insecticides in B. yothersi. To do so, the lethal concentration curves of the insecticides cypermethrin, phosmet and imidacloprid and of the spirodiclofen acaricide isolated and the combination of each insecticide with the acaricide will be determined. Next, analyzes will be performed to determine the enzymes expressed in the mites exposed to the isolated and blended products, as well as to quantify the duration of inhibition of the enzyme (s). We will also evaluate the effect of different concentrations of different insecticides on the development and reproduction mortality of B. yothersi. The effect of the isolated and mixed products will be evaluated on different stages of development of the mites (eggs, larvae, nymphs, adults) and on the behavior of the mites. From these results it will be possible to determine the influence of this practice on the survival and reproduction of the mite, as well as the interval between the applications of insecticides and acaricides in order to reduce the interference between them.
