Abstract

The absence of management plans that explore the balance between the economic development and the goals of conservation expand the socioeconomic conflicts, fostering and establishing deforestation in watersheds. The current project aims to elucidate the action of the economic opportunity cost of the vegetated areas and the impacts in the conservation of hydric resources in the watersheds of the Rivers Piracicaba, Capivari and Jundiaí, focusing on the different scenarios of land multiple use. The development of the project will be held under unique aspects of geoprocessing, programming language, numeric modeling and statistical analysis in the specific coverage areas. The project will also provide knowledge applicable in management, as its points outs areas of major impact for the conservation of hydric resources in balance with the socioeconomic interests. (AU)
