Abstract

The improvement in the production expectancy of cultivated plants is one of the greatest challenges facing by agricultural research today, due to the growing demand for food in the world population an the scarcity of agricultural areas, therefore is necessary that happens a increase in productivity of current available areas, ensuring the sustainability of environment and the food security for the whole world. The Alto Paranapanema watershed region is composed of 35 municipalities, situated in southwest of the State of São Paulo, being one of the most outdated areas with low IDH and educational levels, even though it is a predominantly rural region, there is a process of migration to urban areas. The lack of agricultural monitoring ends up hurting the productive levels of region, since for the most part the technical information that arrives to the farmer comes from other region, not being adapted to the local agrometeorological characteristics, making necessary a concise evaluation of the productive efficiency of the crops to characterize the most appropriate management in the region. The plant growth models are important tools for many sectors of agricultural production, with wheat being a highly climate influenced crop the use of these tools allow an improved in decision making in agricultural planning. One of the main tools used is CERES-Wheat, inserted in the DSSAT platform, this model assists in the simulation of crop behavior according to different soil, climate and management interfaces. The present proposal aims to study the productive efficiency of wheat crop in the Alto Paranapanema microbasin region, based on the DSSAT platform, which incorporates the CERES-Wheat model used especially for the wheat crop, providing data organization climate, soil, experimental trials and phonological information, to identify possible decisions that can improve wheat productivity in the region.
