Abstract

It is a project arising from participation in the "Research Group Specifics of Teaching in Child Education - GEPEDEI". In the discussions of this group, there was the first contact with aspects of Pedagogy and Freinet Techniques, considering the characteristics of each technique and, at the same time, their complementarity. This meeting motivated the interest in systematically understanding the value of the "Book of Life" technique for the development of child intelligence and personality in Early Childhood Education. From the reflections made, the guiding problem of the studies emerged: What are the contributions of the "Book of Life" technique, created by Célestin Freinet, to reflect on the child as subject-author of experiences in the School of Early Childhood Education? With this problem, the general objective of the research is to systematize and understand the contributions of the "Book of Life" technique, developed by Célestin Freinet, to make reflections about the child as the subject-author of his experiences in the School of Early Childhood Education. The research hypothesis is that the Book of Life can become material that condenses various childhood expressions, experienced in situations where children assume themselves as active subjects and authors in the relations with the objects of culture and with the people around them. This understanding can mean a participatory place for the child in the School of Early Childhood Education, based on the deep respect for their rights, possibilities and needs.
