Analysis of the geomorphological changes derived from land use in the Cabeça River Basin (SP)

Abstract

It is known that since the prehistoric periods, man has sought in different ways to have dominion over nature, whether through subsistence, hunting, fishing, making objects, farming practices or the withdrawal of raw material aimed at mechanized and industrial production. As a result of these actions, the natural environment ends up being modified, especially when we think of the old configuration of the relief that happens to acquire a new feature. In this context, the present work has the objective of identifying and analyzing the changes in the relief in the Head River Basin (SP), caused by the anthropic action, as well as the repercussion of these on the geomorphological dynamics. In order for this process to be possible, the relief features will be analyzed in different periods, in the year 1988 and 2010. The research procedures to be employed cover the production of geomorphological maps and land use and occupation. For the preparation of such maps, 1988 aerial photographs will be used, available in the university, in the scale of 1.40.000, and 2010 obtained with EMPLASA, in the scale of 1.10.000. The mappings will be presented in the scale of 1: 50,000, being georeferenced on topographical charts produced by IBGE, leaves of Itirapina and Rio Claro. For the mapping of land use and occupation, the guidelines presented by IBGE (2013) will be used, as well as the technical suggestions for image analysis proposed by Diniz and Ceron (1966). With regard to the elaboration of the geomorphological maps will be adapted the concepts of Tricart (1965).
