Abstract

One of the main causes of the growth of Campinas and its metropolitan region was the process of industrialization, which makes relevant to understand the way of its contribution to urban growth in the region. This project aims to analyze and understand the spatial distribution of industries in the Campinas metropolitan region and build maps that present its influence in the urban growth, which in the geographical standpoint represents an important process. The methodology is placed in the surveying process and bibliographical review, in the construction of a database and data carriers using geotechnologies and field verification activities. With this, it intends to contribute with the understanding of the industrialization and metropolization processes of the Campinas Metropolitan Region and understanding how the spatial distribution of industries influenced these processes.
