Abstract

Sepsis is a serious condition with great mortality. The worsening of sepsis may result in septic shock, in which a significant drop in blood pressure, usually refractory to vasoconstricting agents, occurs. Such events may be associated with increased nitric oxide formation and consequent increase in S-nitrosylation of proteins. The aim of the project is to evaluate whether there is an increase in S-nitrosylated proteins in the vasculature after sepsis.
