Abstract The General Relativity theory is one of the greatest achievements of 20th-century physics and is, to this date, the most accepted theory regarding gravitation. This project aims to study the foundations of that theory, as well as Special Relativity, ultimately applying the acquired knowledge for the deduction of the Schwarzschild metric, in addition to its physical properties, in order for the author to improve his knowledge in regard to the theme, preparing him for an academic career in the field. For such, it will first be made a literature review with regard to the theme, followed by the deduction of the main theoretical results by the student, finally analysing the outcome by comparison with the described in the scientific literature. | |
