Abstract

Traditional Chinese Medicine states that there is an energy circulating in all living beings. When there is a stagnation of this energy somewhere in the body, there is pain. This circulating energy can be used through the Ryodoraku method. Objective: Obtain the energetic levels of patients with toothache before and after a therapeutic intervention (an acupuncture session or administration of dipyrone). Materials and methods: The study groups will be randomized into 4 groups of studies: acupuncture group (GA), placebo-acupuncture group (GPA), dipyrone group (GD) and placebo-dipyrone group (GPD). Volunteers should present pulpal origin with the Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) above 4. Before any treatment, the energy level will be measured by the Ryodoraku method. After this procedure, each volunteer receives the treatment according to their group. After 20 minutes of treatment, volunteers will have their energy levels measured. The results obtained through the energy evaluation will allow the analysis of the energy profile of patients with toothache, before and after the treatment procedures with acupuncture and dipyrone.
