Abstract

The present project is composed of two lines of research that have in common an inverse problem formulation, to be solved by means of signal processing methods, particularly those based on sparse estimation. In the first line of research, we intend to continue our work on blind source separation, exploring more deeply the relationships between the criteria employed and the sparsity and anti-sparsity properties of the involved signals. In the second line of research, we apply sparse estimation techniques to decision-making problems. Approaching the case in which the Choquet integral is used in data aggregation, we seek to identify its parameters (Choquet's capacities) from an adequate sparse representation of these data. This is an overseas scholarship program (BPE/FAPESP) in which the main objective of the proponent is to spend a brief period of updating and deepening in the lines of research mentioned above, in search of new insights, both for theoretical and practical aspects. To this end, it is intended to take advantage of a closer contact with internationally renowned specialists with whom there is already a fruitful history of scientific collaboration.Since the period is relatively short (only 25 days long), and to make it as intense as possible, the "Laboratoire SATIE of the École Normale Supérieure Paris-Saclay" was chosen as the main host institution, given our strong previous collaboration with several researchers in this Institution. The host researcher is Professor Pascal Larzabal, who is also the Director of the "Laboratoire SATIE".In addition to the main period of stay at SATIE, visits to the Universities "Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne", "Paris-Descartes" and "Toulouse III Paul Sabatier" are planned, as well as the participation in two events closely linked to the two mentioned lines of research: SPARS-2019 (Signal Processing with Adaptive Sparse Structured Representations) and the International Summer School on Preferences, Decisions and Games.
