Abstract

The aim of this study is to evaluate the feasibility and learning curve of microsurgery using hair thread for ureter anastomosis. This type of approach allows us to quantitatively and qualitatively evaluate the number of repetitions, the average time spent and the difficulties from each operator in each surgical procedure. For this purpose swine ureters will be used, it will be observed the possibility of substitution from suture threads to hair threads for the learning of the surgeons. For the study it will be used fifty ureters of swine cadavers from the pathology sector of the veterinary hospital of Universidade de Franca (UNIFRAN). The ureters will be removed from the corpses and will be frozen until the experiment is carried out. In the statistic it will be evaluated the execution time of the suture, the difficulties of each operator and the degrees of the overflow by means of a mixed regression model with the random effect of each individual. Through this study it will be possible to establish a learning curve for the professionals who do not have knowledge in microsurgery.
