Abstract

Dog intestines are always the target of study involving surgical aspects, such as the evaluation of risk factors for anastomotic permeability, or about ischemic injury and the role of superoxide radicals, or about resection and anastomosis by laparoscopy. The objective of this study is to analyze, biomechanically, the intestine of dogs' corpses prepared with ethylic alcohol and curing salt, and vacuum packed, aiming the veterinary surgery practice, besides obtaining the microbiological evaluation during the whole process. We hope to develop an anatomical model of a chemically prepared cadavers as an alternative method to veterinary surgery teaching, with no academic disadvantage.
