Abstract

The arboviruses of greatest interest in public health belong to families and Togaviridae, Flaviviridae, genus Flavivirus and Alphavirus. These viruses pose a serious public health problem in Brazil and in the world due to their potential to cause outbreaks and for being responsible for high rates of morbidity and mortality. This situation requires studies to identify these viruses invertebrates and invertebrate hosts, enabling the prevention of epidemics. The arboviruses are viruses kept in nature, by biological transmission between vertebrate hosts susceptible and hematophagous arthropods or arthropod host to another arthropod host. Almost all arboviruses are zoonoses in maintained in wild environments. However, certain arboviruses emerge periodically in epidemic form in urban areas. The arboviruses have a wide geographic distribution, with prevalence in countries of tropical and subtropical climate like Brazil. These regions offer favorable ecological conditions, facilitating their persistence and spread. Therefore, this project proposes to investigate of arboviruses transmitted by ticks collected from wild animals, emphasizing the importance of investigations of viral reservoirs for control of emerging viruses.
