Abstract It is proposed to study the Wavelet Transform, exploring the continuous and discrete versions of this transform. Various types of physical phenomena involving signals, such as electrical signals, voice and audio signals, can be studied by the TW. In the context of this present work, the Wavelet Transform application is directed at the detection and classification of signals that represent voltage disturbances in electrical systems, which are generated by a basic mathematical model. For the detection of voltage disturbances, several wavelet functions will be used, such as Daubechies, Morlet and Mexican hat, in order to determine the ones that best adjusts for such analysis. The classification of the disturbances will be performed through their wavelet domain representation. The classifier used will be based on the C4.5 algorithm5. | |
