Abstract

The quality of the drilling process on a material is a determinant factor in the useful life of the final product, due to structural changes caused by cutting forces and interferences generated by the manufacturing process on the surface finish of the machined part. Therefore, a study directed to the influence of different cutting parameters on the drilling processes of a material becomes relevant. In this context, the project proposes a comparative study by means of combinations, involving different types of drill bits, methods of holding the drills and modes of lubrication used, to be performed in the drilling of aluminum Al7050-T651 parts, material used in a large scale in the aeronautical industry. As a method to fulfill the project proposal, analyzes will be carried out regarding the diameter and roughness of the holes, as well as the wear presented by the cutting tools.
