Abstract The validation and estimation of parameters of electric generators has been shown to be of great importance for the analysis and control of electrical power systems, allowing them to be operated correctly and efficiently. Based on these parameters, it is possible to perform simulations and predict the behavior of these systems during a transient. In this way, the most appropriate actions can be taken, such as: load relief, calibration of protection schemes, verification of stability problems, among others. The determination of these parameters is, with each passing day, more important. That's because distributed generation is growing fast: small hydroelectric plants, biomass-fueled and biogas-fueled plants and are increasing in number and are examples of small electric power producers that use smaller synchronous generators. The more generators connected to the electric power system, the more complex the operation, maintenance, coordination and implementation of safety measures of this system become. Therefore, the greater the need to know these machine's behaviors. With this in mind, the purpose of this Project is to develop a software with a graphical interface to estimate the parameters of synchronous generators through short-circuit and oppening of short-circuit tests. | |
