Abstract

Under most naturalistic situations, attentional selection is achieved by moving our eyes around the environment, bringing objects of interest to the center of the visual field where acuity is highest. These rapid eye-movements are known as "saccades". Evidence from psychophysical and neurophysiological studies suggests that before each saccade, visual attention is deployed towards the landing point of the next eye position. In this project, we will investigate visual perception during eye-movement preparation, not only at the landing point of saccade, but across multiple regions in the visual field.
