Abstract

Transtornos alimentares e obesidade são preocupações de saúde pública independentes em países desenvolvidos e em países em desenvolvimento. Entretanto, existe significativa ocorrência de transtornos alimentares, especialmente transtorno de compulsão alimentar, em indivíduos com obesidade. Isto é preocupante porque transtornos alimentares podem contribuir para a obesidade e vice-versa. Além disso, indivíduos com transtornos alimentares e obesidade estão em maior risco de complicações de saúde do que indivíduos com apenas uma das condições. Um novo tratamento para reduzir transtornos alimentares e controlar o peso - Programa HAPIFED - foi desenvolvido. Este programa - como originalmente desenvolvido na Austrália - inclui 30 sessões de terapia, no entanto este longo tratamento não é apropriado para o Brasil onde recursos no sistema único de saúde (SUS) são escassos e tratamentos privados não são acessíveis para grande parte da população. Assim, é importante desenvolver e testar uma versão reduzida do Programa HAPIFED porque um tratamento mais curto pode diminuir a carga no SUS e diminuir o custo do tratamento privado. Este estudo compara uma versão reduzida do Programa HAPIFED (com 12 sessões de terapia) versus o tratamento padrão, terapia cognitivo comportamental - aprimorada (TCC-A) no tratamento do transtorno de compulsão alimentar e obesidade. Cem participantes com transtorno de compulsão alimentar e sobrepeso/obesidade comórbida serão randomizados para tratamento em grupo com a versão reduzida do Programa HAPIFED ou TCC-A. Transtornos alimentares, índice de massa corporal, saúde mental e qualidade de vida serão avaliados na linha de base, 12 e 24 semanas após o início do tratamento. Os resultados do estudo informarão a eficácia de um tratamento novo, integrado e acessível para transtorno de compulsão alimentar e sobrepeso/obesidade.
