Abstract

We intend to carry out a multi-scale investigation of carbon nanotube-based artificial muscles. Objectives: to create structural models representative of the CNT yarns; to investigate the physical origin of the coiled process; to investigate the role of the embedded paraffin in the actuation process; to investigate whether other embedded organic molecules could lead to the same actuation performance.
