Abstract

Cynodon plants have easy cultivation, high forage production and resistance to grazing. However, its implementation is difficult due to the slow and uneven germination of its seeds. The priming technique can be employed to improve the physiological quality of seed lots. Thus, the aim of this work will be to investigate the influence of priming on Cynodon dactylon seed germination. A causal experimental design will be employed, called direct immersion in five different solutions, consisting of control - no priming; priming in water, potassium nitrate 0.2%, calcium nitrate 0.2% and Gibberellin - 50 mgL-1 of GA3, with six replicates. Subsequently, the seeds will be evaluated for their physiological quality (germination and vigor). Priming is expected to bring advances in seed physiological quality and seedling establishment.
