Abstract

This project aims to underpin an exchange at Drew University with Professor Laurel Kearns, one of the major international references in the field of religion and ecology studies and one of the pioneers in analyzing religious appropriations of the ecological agenda. In addition to her numerous works, she is also responsible for courses, mentoring researchers and organizing seminars and study groups on the subject. The idea is that such an exchange will help enrich my ongoing investigation, which is supported by FAPESP and seeks to analyze the way in which the guidelines elaborated by catholic and evangelical environmental leaders, institutions and movements try to attribute a religious sense to the adoption of ecologically correct conduct.
