Abstract

Efficacy studies of cosmetics is fundamental to consumer acceptability. The development of noninvasive techniques such as skin bioengineering has allowed products assessment in their real use conditions. The effectiveness evaluation by the consumer allows the definition and characterization of particularities not detectable by instrumental procedures, as well as being used for claims of cosmetic products. This study aims to analyze the moisturizing effect of a cosmetic formulation in the stratum corneum by electrical capacitance and to verify its correlation with the user's perception of hydration. To evaluate the formulation developed by the research group, electrical capacitance measurements will be performed on the malar region of 20 participants before the beginning of treatment, after one hour of application and 30 days after using the product. In addition, the subjective perception of hydration will be studied through a questionnaire that will be pre-tested and applied to the 20 participants after performing the measures of hydration of the stratum corneum. The questionnaire will address parameters related to hydration, wrinkles and expression lines on the lips / eyes / forehead, luminosity and vitality. Descriptive statistical analysis of all variables studied will be performed with the appropriate tests. (AU)
