Abstract Divorce and remarriage have become commonplace today, transforming ways of attachment and allowing new family settings. Considering the changes in the family group, the present project seeks to conduct research on the new configurations of parenthood in divorced and remarried families, which are configured in contemporary times, and how it works in these new bonds. Note the need for discussion about parenthood today, considering the repercussions for the functioning of the family. It is in the face of such a question that this project, whose theoretical framework is psychoanalysis, is built with the objective of conducting an exploratory literature review of the relationship between the paternal function, divorce and remarriage in contemporary families.
