Abstract

The Affordable Health Initiative (AHI) is a program to be developed in the school environment with a scalable and sustainable approach to health promotion at school, reaching the entire community. The AHI model to be implemented in Bauru consists of informal education, health promotion activities and medical care. The informal components of education are "extracurricular school activities based on health knowledge", "extracurricular school activities to acquire knowledge on life skills", "extracurricular school activities for health knowledge and life skills involving parents and community" activity. "The components of health promotion are" basic hygiene practices "and" healthy diet ", and health care include" dental care "and" medical care ". This project aims to assess the impact of the implementation of the AHI model on the health and education of students enrolled in schools that serve low income communities. Surveys and questionnaires/forms will be done at the beginning of project implementation and 6, 12 and 24 months. The impacts of the improvement obtained will be widely disseminated and it is hoped that it can be implemented in other schools in the city and serve as a reference for other cities in the country and even to other countries.
