Abstract

The present research project has as a guiding question: how can we perceive the reverence for nature in an artistic way in Kakuzo Okakura's The Book of Tea (1906)? Bearing in mind that respect and appreciation for the natural is something that is part of Japanese culture, as reverence for nature can also be seen in oriental paintings and poetry, among other artistic manifestations. In this sense, the author Kakuzo Okakura is able to portray in his specific work and in others, how oriental culture can be different from what we are used to in the west and at the same time, shows the importance of understanding cultures so peculiar and very present in our country, like Japanese culture. Therefore, the main objective of the research is to understand and reflect how the reverence for nature in an artistic way materializes in The Book of Tea. (AU)
