Abstract

In this study of theoretical-conceptual aspect, we propose a systematic analysis of the literary essay, Mourning and Melancholia, write by Sigmund Freud in 1915. We intend to discuss about the main characteristic that compose the melancholy affection to understand this pathology on the context of the Freudian work and psychoanalytic practice. We objective to perform a systematical analysis of the essay, based on panoramic perspective that include discussions about contextual position within of the Freudian work, mainly to the works named meta-psychological, besides of conceptual aspects find in the text. Through of the study, we evidenciate the relation between the identification of the narcissistic type with lost objective in the establishment of melancholy, understanding the play role by the feeling of the ambivalence and sadistic manifestations reveled by self-destructive behavior of the melancholic individual. To perform this study, we will use methodological tools proper to the theoretical-conceptual study in the psychology. (AU)
