Abstract As a scientific initiation project for an undergraduate student in his last year, a study schedule is proposed covering the concepts and fundamentals of Classical Field Theory and the main foundations and procedures of Quantum Field Theory. We expect the student to acquire significant knowledge in these areas and, in particular, we hope that, at the end of the project, the student will be able to canonically quantize the classical scalar field, the Dirac field and the electromagnetic field; and also to understand mechanisms and applications such as path integrals, Feynman diagrams, and renormalization procedures. As it will be essentially a theoretical work, our treatment will be analytical. The significance of this study stems from the scarcity of these contents in undergraduate curricula, although they are extremely relevant currently in Physics, especially in Fundamental Physics.
