Abstract

We will seek understand how chaos arises in an iterated function system (IFS), where each map is an expansion of the circle - which is known to be chaotic. In particular, we consider an IFS that models the chaotic dynamics towards a generic spacelike singularity (such as the Big Bang) within the gravitation theory of Horava-Lifschitz, which is a perturbation of the Einstein theory of general relativity.
