Abstract

Gas turbine repair through additive laser manufacturing is an economically viable alternative due to the high value of these components. The present study aims to develop a laser direct energy deposition technique for the repair of stainless steel blades in order to return them to their common use. In addition to the additive part, the high speed machining technique will be used for surface finishing of the part. The project comprises studying the process parameters, the microstructure of the alloy formed and its mechanical characteristics, both in the state of manufacture and in that state after exposure at high temperatures.
