Abstract

The study plan in question synthesizes the central elements that will guide the studies of the postdoctoral period during the year 2020 in the Department of Social Work of the Faculty of Social Sciences of the "Universidad de La República" (UDELAR - Uruguay) under the supervision of Professor Dr. Pablo Bentura. The study proposes to discuss the theoretical tendencies of Social Work in that country related to what has been denominated in Latin America - from the most progressive legacy of the reconceptualization process - as "Critical Social Work", its various denominations and analytical parameters. What can be characterized as "Critical Social Work" under Uruguayan conditions from the 2000s? Is there any relation to the rich and contradictory Movement of Reconceptualization experienced in different ways in different historicities (circa 1965/1975 - NETTO, 1991), in much of the Latin American continent? The proposal includes three essential procedures detailed in this plan: a) reading of founding texts by the most important and critical authors of Uruguayan Social Service; b) experience and immersion, for 11 months, in the academic reality of that country, considering activities of study, research, teaching and university extension projects; c) and systematic procedures of debate, recording and analyzes information, from experience in the country itself.
