Abstract

The objective of this work will be to verify the selectivity of herbicides, applied at different times, in ornamental grass species - Cynodon dactylon. The first experiment will be conducted in a completely randomized design, with four replications, in a 3 x 2 factorial scheme. The factors correspond to the application of pre-planting herbicides (sulfentrazone - 800 g ha-1, s-metolachlor - 1440 g ha-1 , atrazine - 2000 g ha-1, in addition to control without herbicide application) in two grass species: Tifway 419 (Cynodon dactylon x Cynodon trans) and Tifdwarf (Cynodon dactylon). Regarding the use of herbicides in the post-planting of grasses, three experiments will be carried out, one for each moment of irrigation after the application of treatments: 0, 3 and 6 days. The design will be completely randomized, with four replications, in a 5 x 2 factorial scheme, with five herbicides: atrazine (2000 g ha-1), sulfentrazone (800 g ha-1), bentazon (0.72 g ha-1), s-metolachlor (1440 g ha-1) and 2,4-D (670 g ha-1) applied on the two grasses mentioned and controls without herbicide application. Visual assessments will be made at 7, 14, 21, 28 and 35 days after herbicide application.
