Abstract

This study aims to observe the effect of different dental stools on the muscular activity of upper and abdominal region of the body under simulated clinical conditions. For this, a laboratory experimental study will be carry out, where the dependent variable will be the muscular activity deltoid, trapezius, rectus abdominis and paravertebral muscles and the independent variable is the dental stools (conventional stool, saddle stool and Seat Ball stool). Class I cavity preparations for composite resin will be performing with a spherical cutter diamond #1012 at low speed on the teeth 16, 26, 36 and 46. Dental phantom head with artificial resin teeth, specific to the cavity preparation in pre-clinical level, will be used. The Dental phantom will be attached to the dental chair to simulate treatment in a clinical setting. Descriptive statistical analysis will be performed. After checking the normality assumptions and homoscedasticity will be performed analysis of variance (ANOVA) with one factor and Tukey post-test. Data analysis will be conducted independently for the 4 different teeth. The significance level will be 5%.
