Abstract

The purpose of this Scientific Initiation project is to analyze syllabuses for undergraduation Languages and Literature courses of Brazilian public universities, specifically, those dealing with the teaching of literature, in order to know and deepen the understanding of the theoretical, methodological, and teaching trends in these documents. Regarding the theme, in Brazil, Oliveira (2008) and Rezende (2017) are highlighted; Lopes and Macedo (2002) as well, for instance. The aim consists of creating an inventory of the syllabuses and catalog their objectives, tables of contents, course descriptions, and bibliography, in order to gather and organize relevant data for the teacher education of literature; and how they could act to determine relationships in the educational and languages and literature fields (BOURDIEU, 2003), having as theoretical and methodological support authors such as Bourdieu (1998; 2003), Chartier (1991), Eagleton (1983), Compagnon (2009), Dalvi (2013) and others. The general objectives of this research are: a) To catalog the syllabuses of the disciplines whose theme is the teaching of literature to access their trends; and b) Constitute a corpus to research based on cataloging that will be carried out in undergraduation Languages and Literature courses of thirty public (federal and state) universities from different Brazilian regions. The specific objectives rely on: a) To list the authors in the bibliographies of the syllabuses; b) Highlight and discuss the main concepts of teaching literature in these syllabuses, and c) Categorize and point out the methodologies and theoretical aspects used in these syllabuses. The methodology adopted is the Documental Analysis, as defined by Ludke and André (1986). As a result, it is expected, along this study, to contribute to the constitution of a corpus for the Education and Languages and Literature fields, regarding the literature teaching. (AU)
