Abstract

Records show that in 2009 the efficiency of photoelectric conversion (PCE) of solar cells using Perovskites (PSCs) was 3.8% and nowadays it reaches 25.2%. In addition to being highly efficient, Perovskites (PVK) can be prepared with low-cost materials and techniques, making them an excellent technology to be commercialized. However, PSCs face long-term instability problems under realistic operating conditions varying from sensitivity to humidity, the presence of oxygen, heat and light stimuli, which remains an obstacle to their large-scale production. The formation of high-quality perovskite films depends not only on the deposition process, but also on the atmosphere during the growth of the material. Aiming at economic issues, there is a growing interest in the development of films of good stability in ambient air conditions, without the need for using inert atmosphere equipment, greatly reducing the cost involved in the process. Thus, this proposal aims to develop PVK films in a nitrogen atmosphere (H2O and O2 <0.1ppm) and in air (high humidity and oxygen), with focus on understanding the degradation processes and the influence of moisture on the formation and stability of the films. Minimizing PSC degradation processes is an important step towards commercialization. (AU)
