Abstract

This research intends to approach Júlia Lopes de Almeida, an author from the passage of the 19th - 20th centuries in a process of reinsertion in literary history. The purpose is to analyze the use of the epistolary genre in the works Livros das Donas e Donzelas (1906) and Correio da Roça (1913), respectively domestic manual and epistolary novel. It is hypothesized that the use of rhetoric and fictional strategies from the epistolary genre promotes reflections of an educational nature on the part of the readers. Thereby, the intention is to contribute to the author's specialized bibliography and the studies of the epistolary genre in Brazil from the 20th century.
