Abstract

The selective C-H functionalization of a molecule which already bears others functional groups in its structure has a number of advantages such as, for example, the reduction in number of reaction steps, the reduction of waste generation and the increasy of sinthetic efficiency, since more complex molecules can be prepared in less time. By modifying the structure of a common hydrocarbon in new compounds with distinctive oxidative profiles, several areas of biology and chemistry can be impacted. For this reason, this approach has been highly investigated for development of new drugs, or even metabolites of high pharmaceutical relevance.
