Abstract

It is common knowledge that malignant tumors present alterations in gene expression with several over or underexpressed genes. Today, we know that many retrocopies are expressed and can regulate the expression of their coding genes or those genes surrounding the site that they are inserted. We hypothesize that retrocopies without a known function can be functional in tumors.
