Abstract

Studying the arrival direction distribution of ultra-high energy cosmic rays arriving at Earth is a promising way of learning about their sources and propagation towards us. Since 2004, the Pierre Auger Observatory in Argentina operates and takes data of ultra-high energy cosmic rays. The obtained data allow for a study of anisotropies in the arrival direction distribution of cosmic rays with energies around and above 1 EeV. This project aims to analyze the large-angular scale distribution of the arrival directions of cosmic rays detected at the Pierre Auger Observatory. Two Rayleigh analyses will be done, one in the right ascension and one in the azimuth angle distribution, to obtain the dipolar modulation of the flux. From the first analysis, we get the component of the dipole vector in the equatorial plane. From the second one, we find the component of the dipole vector perpendicular to the equatorial plane.
